Tell Your California Legislators: Promote Safety, Quality, and Good Broadband Jobs

California has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to close the digital divide and build high speed broadband to unserved and underserved areas. We need to ensure that this historic investment creates long-lasting future-proof infrastructure, built by a well-trained workforce.

SB 1460 will create, for the first time, broadband focused high road labor standards that will be used whenever federal dollars are used for broadband buildout in California. This bill will ensure a properly trained workforce and more effective buildout as California tries to get broadband to all Californians.

It would ensure that California’s broadband infrastructure is built by Californians with good jobs that build our communities, not by outside contractors with shoddy labor practices.

We ask all members to sign the form to send a message to your state legislature, requesting their support for SB-1460. We want to avoid out-of-state, lowest bidder contract companies from taking jobs that could help resolve California's unemployment and underemployment issues.
