The Communications Workers of America is a national labor union representing workers in telecommunications, media, airlines, healthcare, public service, tech, and related industries across the United States.

CWA Local 9588 represents workers primarily throughout Southern California. Our Local focuses on negotiating strong contracts, enforcing workplace rights, organizing new workers, and building an active, engaged membership.

Committees allow members to focus on specific issues such as organizing, safety, education, equity and human rights, political action, and community service. They are one of the main ways members shape the direction and priorities of the Local.

Union dues are used to support:

• Contract negotiations and enforcement

• Legal representation and grievance handling

• Organizing and member training

• Communications, meetings, and member programs

Dues and budgets are approved democratically by the membership.
