CWA Local 9588 is a local union of the Communications Workers of America, a national labor union founded in 1938 that today represents more than 700,000 members nationwide. Established in 1972 in Colton, California, Local 9588 was originally formed to represent workers at General Telephone & Electronics (GTE), whose workforce later transitioned to Verizon Communications, Frontier Communications and back to Verizon again. Today, we represent workers across all departments at Frontier Communications throughout the Inland Empire, as well as substitute teachers in the Rialto and San Bernardino school districts, and staff employees with the American Federation of Musicians Local 47.
