UC Workers on Strike May 14th! Stand w/ AFSCME 3299

On May 14th, 42,000 University of California Service & Patient Care workers are entering an open-ended strike. This is coming after two years without a contract, multiple strikes, and continued bad faith bargaining.

The UC Riverside picket line will be located at 900 University Ave, from 8 AM to 1 PM.

Some statistics to keep in mind:

Make no mistake: workers have courageously chosen to take this heavy sacrifice because the University of California left them no other choice. This strike's focus is on affordable healthcare, job security, wages that keep up with inflation, and expanding the housing assistance that UC gives to its highest paid employees.
Here's how the public can help:

  1. Commit not to cross the picket line and instead join it!

  2. Donate to the AFSCME 3299 strike fund here.

  3. Share your support for UC workers publicly, by printing out and displaying this sign.

  4. Sharing the above information with your union, coworkers, friends, and family!

So this Thursday, we'll see you on the line at UC Riverside.
