The Legislative and Political Committee assists in developing and carrying out programs to register and engage qualified voters in accordance with the CWA Local 9588 By-Laws and the CWA Constitution. The committee works to ensure that members are informed, encouraged to participate, and aware of opportunities to engage in the democratic process.

Through initiatives such as Get Out the Vote (GOTV), Member-to-Member, and Labor-to-Labor programs, the committee helps coordinate outreach and education efforts within the Local. These programs are designed to promote participation, strengthen member involvement, and support collective civic engagement.

By working with Local leadership and members, the committee helps advance the union’s broader goals of advocacy, accountability, and active participation, ensuring that member voices are represented through organized and lawful civic involvement.
