Women’s & Community Service Community
The Women’s and Community Service Committee operates in accordance with the CWA Local 9588 By-Laws and the CWA Constitution to support members, their families, and the broader community. The committee focuses on building strong relationships through service, mutual aid, and community engagement while also addressing issues of special concern to women.
A core function of the committee is to assist union members and their families during times of need by organizing support efforts, resource drives, and community-based assistance. The committee also establishes and coordinates community service activities that reflect the values of solidarity, compassion, and collective responsibility.
Through outreach, service projects, and community partnerships, the Women’s and Community Service Committee helps strengthen the Local’s presence in the community, supports members beyond the workplace, and reinforces the union’s commitment to uplifting working families and the communities in which they live.
